The weight of this, as well as the need to keep it NOT above the battery being charged limits the way I can use it and what I can use it on. Even so, this is a stout charger and using it on a 10 year old Interstate Megatron Group 24 battery we abandoned in our garage surprised me. It was too heavy for me to even turn in when we replaced it years ago when I first became disabled. I was going to take it in to get my $5.00 core charge back but am just not able to handle it. I used it for years to power my 12 volt inflator I used to use on an Avon Inflatable boat, now use it to fill my pool toys. Last year it flat gave up the ghost. . Enter THIS charger and I knew it was a waste of time to try but gave it a shot and attempted to charge it. I have NO idea how this stuff works and it took a few DAYS, but that ancient relic is now working again. I have so many Battery tenders and have no more need for them since disabilities forced me to sell so many toys I could no longer ride/use etc, I will probably keep this as a battery "resurrection device" of sorts? I am considering it for our RV but will first see how it works on our other batteries since I am paranoid to change something I KNOW is reliable. I simply can not afford to get stranded these days. I also an not a fan of the simple eyelets it comes with, forcing me to make my OWN connectors as needed for different applications. Given the price, I can forgive that but would rather pay to have options included with the item. I give this 4 stars to begin, but will revisit the review as it stands or fails the test of time. My trusty total of Battery tenders (6 in all) have not had a single failure in all the years of full time use. This comes with a 5 year warranty so we shall see. Again, it is not nearly as versatile as my Battery Tenders, but I will see how it goes. The waterproof feature is worth 1 star to me, otherwise this would be a flat 3 star item.

Even though they are enclosed, they are not sealed from moisture. This charger is ignition protected and will not produce a spark which makes it perfect whether your generator runs on gas or propane. Ours runs on gas.The bolt-on battery terminal eye connectors are much safer than alligator clips where a great deal of vibration exists. This is especially true in a powerful ski boat with an inboard engine like I ran for many years. Clips can jar loose and cause sparks. I've seen it happen. This never turns out good around explosive fumes.Yeah right, you're thinking. I have EOD training. That's what I did in Nam. Search: Da Nang Ammo Dump. Look for April 27, 1969.If you wish to use this charger on more than one stationary battery, adding alligator clips will make life easier. My first impression out of the box was one of quality and durability. It had that same feel and appearance as when I pick up a quality power tool for the first time.In total doubt, I connected the charger to an old core battery that had been sitting in the garage for a year and let it remain over night. The next day, the battery was 100%. I couldn't believe it.I've got a tractor and a farm truck that sit under open sheds. They are not totally exposed to the elements but they are not in the dry either. Because they are only driven a few times a year, about midway into the warranty period these batteries refuse to go to 100% charge from lack of use. Besides, I have to wait for dry weather to connect a charger to these batteries. This little NOCO is the perfect solution. I need a second such charger with heavy alligator clips so I can alternate it between these two weather-exposed vehicles every month.I'll base my review on what I've experienced so far and the promise of a 5-year warranty. If something changes for the negative, I'll update my review accordingly.Basing a review on hypothetical guesswork of things that could go wrong without any evidence is not really fair. I do like to play fair. If anything does go wrong, it will probably be with me and not the charger.Rapidly advancing technology is quickly antiquating products that have proved successful for years. This new line of Noco chargers might deserve attention.Time will tell.

The two fantastic capabilities with this On-Board charger is that it keeps the batteries charged (we bought two additional chargers after we saw how well this one worked) so we can crank the vehicles when we need them and secondly we don't have to move the batteries indoors to charge them.
